lydia-zimmermann

Born in Barcelona, from Swiss parents. Lydia started dancing and acting from a young age. She studied at the Catalan Center of Film Studies (CECC) and in 1994 moved to Australia where she graduated at the Victoria College of the Arts, Melbourne. In 2018 she made a Master in Transdisciplinarity at the ZHdK, the University of the Arts in Zurich, where she currently lives, teaches and develops further projects with Artisan Films and Kunstruktur, an independent cultural association. Back in Barcelona, she runs Curtidos, a ‘space for error and art’ that is also offered as a residency for researches and artists. Lydia has written and directed shorts and feature films, in narrative and documentary genres. She has made video-installations in art galleries and museums. By observing, listening and exploring the media, she has learned that film has many forms: it can be a door, a dream, a letter, a mirror, an exorcism. Sometimes a story.
